Serving as a launchpad for all subsequent apps to follow, Circa was our group’s first successful in-house mobile application. The “Circa Engine” would later be used to power 178 local news apps that are in the marketplace today.

To capture the aesthetic of the time, we recruited a youthful journalistic team dedicated to engaging a younger audience. Their mission was to infuse stories with personality.

The journalistic team created a ton of content. Journalists were empowered to shoot, produce and publish content directly from the field. The branded content felt interesting, compelling and in-the-moment.
